One of the things I love most about the internet is finding and supporting independent artists. As someone who grew up going to anime conventions, loving furry stuff, and participating in fandoms, I feel deeply blessed to have had the chance to be exposed to so much art. This is a list of as many cool artists as I can remember and find- I highly recommend checking them out, and showing them your support if you're able to!
Obviously, these artists are based on my personal tastes, so they'll lean towards stuff I like and relate to (as opposed to being a comprehensive list). Most of what is listed here is fully SFW, but there may be some adult themes in some of their work/profiles, specifically suggestive content, minimal nudity, drug use, and themes of depression/mental illness. I've made sure to link to sites that outline these themes/warnings, but please proceed with caution, and do not engage with work that is marked as 18+ if you're a minor.
This list will likely not be perfectly maintained. Independent artists often move or close their shops or accounts for all kinds of reasons, and I dont' keep track of them constantly, so some of these links may die over time. Similarly, esp for furry stuff, I do not keep up with social media discourse around fandom artists, nor to I care to. If someone's fallen out of favor with the community for some reason, and I have them linked here, please use common sense and understand that I don't implicitly support whatever shit may have occurred. This doesn't tend to be as much of an issue here on Neocities, but I've seen enough drama over this stuff on twitter and toyhouse to last me a lifetime, ha ha. Please just be chill!
